Reimagining Philadelphia’s Riverfront
In partnership with Fairmount Park Conservancy, the Women’s Alliance for the Empowerment of River Spaces (W.A.T.E.R.S.) is a collaborative effort to strengthen and reimagine the Schuylkill River Corridor along Kelly Drive and MLK Drive.
The project brings together public partners, philanthropy, and community leadership to invest in safety, accessibility, beauty, and long-term care—ensuring this iconic corridor continues to serve and inspire all who use it. Together, these efforts will transform how the riverfront is experienced—supporting:
Welcoming, well-maintained public spaces for daily use
Safer conditions at all hours of the day
Stronger connections to the river’s history and meaning
New opportunities to gather, reflect, and engage
Be a Part of What Comes Next
This is an open and evolving effort—one that will grow stronger through community involvement. We invite you to follow along and help shape what comes next.
The Fairmount Park Conservancy's partnership with W.A.T.E.R.S. will insure the protection of this river that serves as a natural, cultural and historical treasure.
