Who We Are
W.A.T.E.R.S. is a group of women who care deeply about Philadelphia—its river, its people, and the spaces that bring us together.
The Alliance was formed around a simple idea: when people come together in service of something beyond themselves, they can create lasting change. We are motivated by a shared commitment to environmental stewardship, public health, and the power of public spaces to connect and inspire.

What makes being part of the Women’s Alliance for the Empowerment of River Spaces so meaningful to me is the opportunity to work alongside passionate and accomplished women who care deeply about the future of Philadelphia’s river spaces. Together, we are helping to honor the women who shaped this city while preserving and strengthening the beauty, accessibility, and spirit of the Schuylkill River for generations to come.
